The Inglis Classic is restricted to two year olds nominated to the Inglis Race Series that were offered for sale at 2017 Inglis Sydney Classic Yearling Sale and the Tony Gollan trained filly showed that she is worthy of a trip over the border after leading from go to woe to win the QTIS two year old Handicap (1110m) at Doomben last Saturday.

“She’s a very professional filly,” Gollan said.

“Her first start was excellent after she got into trouble early on in the Calaway Gal.

“She’s only small but it doesn’t matter as she gets out and relaxes well.

“It was a soft win in the end.”

“She’ll have her next run in the Inglis Classic in Sydney in three weeks.”

Snicki Minaj bounced out of the barriers for stand-in jockey Ron Stewart and was never headed before going on to record a three lengths victory over the Mark Webb trained Clockwise.

Ron Stewart was the benefactor of Brad Stewart being unable to take the ride when he became indisposed and the substitute jockey was very impressed with the winning effort of Snicki Minaj.

“It was unfortunate for Brad (Stewart) that he couldn’t ride her but she’s bomb proof to ride,” Ron Stewart said.

“There was some pressure on her early but she did it well and she’ll be even better over further.”

The Hinchinbrook filly was having her second race start after finishing a first up seventh to stablemate Outback Barbie in the Listed $100,000 Calaway Gal Stakes (1110m) at Doomben on December 16.

“Her first start was excellent after she got into trouble early on in the Calaway Gal,” Gollan said.

Outback Barbie proved the Calaway Gal Stakes form to be solid after running home strongly at her next start to finish third behind Sunlight and Fullazaboot in the 2018 $2m Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast on January 13.
