Trapeze Artist has drawn barrier ten in the final fourteen horse field with Tim Clark in the saddle again as the three year old Snitzel colt steps up to the 1600m of the Randwick Guineas for the time in his career.

Trapeze Artist was a brilliant winner of the Group 1 $1m De Bortoli Wines Golden Rose (1400m) at Rosehill during the 2017 Sydney Spring Carnival and trainer Gerald Ryan has no doubts that his colt will handle the extra 200m.

“Before the Golden Rose he ran a good race in the Stan Fox over 1500 metres and that was before he had his blinkers on,” Ryan told AAP.

“I”ve always believed he would run it. He was going to the Caulfield Guineas after the Golden Rose but he hurt himself so we had to change plans.”

“He’s bright and well and has improved off his last run.”

“I don’t want too much more rain for him. He is better on a firmer track.”

The James Cummings trained Kementari has been installed as the $2.70 favourite at Ladbrokes.com.au for the Randwick Guineas and Glyn Schofield will be able to give the Lonhro colt the run of the race from barrier four.

Kementari has kicked off the 2018 Autumn Carnival in great style with wins in the Group 3 $150,000 Aquis Farm Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on February 10 and in the Group 2 $400,000 Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill a fortnight later.

Premiership winning trainer Chris Waller will saddle up four runners in the Randwick Guineas with Hugh Bowman’s mount D’Argento leading the charge, even though he drew the outside barrier.

Stablemate Kaonic has drawn the best at barrier five for Brenton Avdulla, Tangled is next to him in six with Jay Ford up while Tangmere has also drawn out at twelve with Kerrin McEvoy to ride.

Magic Millions 3yo Guineas winner Pierata has drawn the rails for Corey Brown with Victoria Derby winner Ace High drawn next to him with Tye Angland retaining the mount.

Victoria’s leading trainer Darren Weir has accepted with Peaceful State who ran a brave second to the Mick Price trained Grunt in the Group 1 $1m Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington last Saturday.

Brad Rawiller gets the ride again on Peaceful State who will jump from gate nine.
