Caulfield Cup winner Boom Time will represent Australia when he travels to Tokyo to run in the Group 1 about US$5.6m Japan Cup (2400m) at Fuchu on November 26.

Boom Time had been invited to run in the Japan Cup after scoring a surprise win in the Group 1 $3.15m BMW Caulfield Cup (2400m) at Caulfield on October 21 and Lindsay Park co-trainer Tom Dabernig confirmed today that the six year old stayer would be heading to Japan.
“He got invited to go to the Japan Cup, and we’ve accepted the invitation. At this stage, he’s scheduled to depart on Monday,” Dabernig told Channel 7.
“That’ll be nice to be a part of.”
Lindsay Park head trainer David Hayes is the sole owner of Boom Time and he will be looking to win a second Japan Cup after he prepared his high performing galloper Better Loosen Up to win the 1990 Japan Cup.
“I would love to get back to Japan, especially considering I own Boom Time,” David Hayes said.
“He is not in the same class as Better Loosen Up but it is an opportunity that is hard to turn down with the bonus on offer.”
Boom Time caused a huge boilover when he won the Caulfield Cup at $51 but never figured in the finish when fifteenth to Rekindling in the Group 1 $6.25m Emirates Melbourne Cup (3200m) at Flemington on November 7.
