Stunning daughter of Street Cry this mare. Her owners have been blessed with immense patience and the rewards have arrived. She had suffered a nasty knee injury that prevented her making her race debut until two months short of turning four. Yesterday she landed her second win from five starts and in doing so she secured that all important first city success. The stallion was hugely successful before his demise in 2014 and our mare is now a valuable breeding prospect. Judging by the quality of this win she is only just touching the surface of where she may end her racing career.
The ride by Ben Melham to secure the win was perfection and he has been a wrap for this girl since day one. A warm summers evening at Sandown with a stack of owners on track to celebrate the win is the reason why we torture ourselves with this job. It never tarnishes , that wonderful feeling of watching others in that raptured moment of success. We want as many of our fantastic owners to have these days and it’s exciting how the team is shaping at home.Congratulations to the Eales Racing team and to the Warren Racing owners who share the ownership.
We have a stack of promising young horses working through the system and the future feels as bright as the Sandown sun.
