Mulk then followed this victory with a 3rd in the $150,000 Vobis Gold Ingot at Caulfield and then went on to run 6th beaten less than 2 lengths at Flemington prior to going for a spell.
He has had a good 3 month break on the spring grass to continue to furnish and grow and is ready to commence training in the next few weeks. Both David Hayes and Tom Dabernig have said that the horse is sound and would suit Darwin conditions. We were keen to purchase this gelding with a view towards the Darwin Guineas next year and due to the fact that he should be suited to the Darwin style of racing as he is a strong on pace type who makes his own luck.
The plan is for him to have a short prep in Victoria before backing off him with a view to the Darwin Carnival next year. Long term, we envisage he will spend 3 months in Darwin during their yearly carnival and 9 months racing and spelling in Victoria.
This gelding is eligible for SUPER VOBIS, VOBIS GOLD and BOBS prize money bonuses.
