The James Cummings trained Godolphin mare Alizee and Kris Lees’ war horse Le Romain are among the eight nominations for the 1200m weight for age sprint.

Alizee will be having her first start since finishing sixth to Kenedna in the Group 1 $1m Coolmore Legacy Stakes (1600m) at Randwick on Day Two of The Championships on April 13, the same race she won twelve months earlier while Le Romain hasn’t raced since running sixth to Pierata in the Group 1 $600,000 Schweppes All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on April 20.

A slick start to her 2019 Spring Carnival campaign will see Alizee compete for a place in Godolphin’s slot for the $14m The Everest (1200m) at Randwick on October 19.

“The Everest is relevant with Alizee,’’ Cummings told The Daily Telegraph.

“We are reserving the opportunity to make that decision later.’’

Alizee burst into the Group 1 winner’s club early in her three year old season with her victory in the $500,000 Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick during the 2017 Spring Carnival and then claimed another in the 2018 Sydney Autumn Carnival with her win in the Group 1 $1m Coolmore Legacy Queen Of The Turf Stakes (1600m) at Randwick.

The 2019 Melbourne Autumn Carnival was also a successful campaign for Alizee when she claimed her third Group 1 trophy with a win in the Group 1 $500,000 Yulong Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield.

Le Romain is also the winner for three Group 1 races with his last win at the top level being in the 2017 Group 1 $500,000 Canterbury Stakes (1300m) at Randwick while his last visit to the winner’s stall was in the Group 3 $150,000 Shoe County Quality (1200m) at Randwick during the 2018 Spring Carnival.

Lees has also nominated Le Romain’s stablemate Invincible Gem while trainer Anthony Cummings has three entries, Baller, Mizzy and Vegadaze.

Team Hawkes have nominated Sesar who failed to preform last start when sixth in the Group 3 $160,000 The Big Screen Company Bletchingly Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on July 27 after scoring an impressive first up win in the $125,000 Winter Dash (1200m) at Randwick.
