Jayeffkay has saluted on debut for his new stable, winning at Naracoorte yesterday afternoon.
Ridden by Joe Bowditch, Jayeffkay drew away from his rivals to win by two lengths.
“I was pleased to see him win against older horses as he is still maturing physically and mentally,” trainer Michael Hickmott said.
The two-year-old gelding found his way to Hickmott after he was previously in the care of Anthony Freedman.
The change of camp has proved to be a successful move for connections as new owners were welcomed into the Hickmott stable with a first up win.
Jayeffkay is owned by Brett Carty, Steve Danaher, Brett Elliot, Adam Kirkwood, Gerladine and Mark Mickelssen, Barclay Nettfold, Vaughan O’Connor, Fred and Jan O’Neil, John O’Neil, Chris Oliver, Joanne Paydon, Peter Sidwell, Luke Simpson and Andrew Taylor.
