A successful return to the racetrack by promising filly Jedstar at The Valley on Saturday could see the rising three year old take on the older sprinters in the Group 1 $1m Charter Keck Cramer Moir Stakes over the same course and distance on September 27.

Trainer Lloyd Kennewell had such a high opinion of his flying filly that he lined her up against the Group 1 sprinters in the Group 1 $750,000 Black Caviar Lightning (1000m) at Flemington during the 2019 Melbourne Autumn Carnival but after missing the start she failed to beat a runner home in the eleven horse field.
Jedstar was then spelled and Kennewell has given the filly three jumouts in preparation for her return to the track.
“She’s obviously a flying filly, very speedy, and has jumped out extremely well her last two jump-outs,” Kennewell told AAP.
“She seems like she’s not far off her peak at all and I think she’ll obviously give them something to catch on Saturday at The Valley.
“We’re going one race at a time but we obviously want to get through The Valley in one piece and make sure she runs a super race there, and all being well two weeks later she flies into the Quezette Stakes.”
Jedastar is set to resume in a 1000m Three Year Old Fillies Handicap at The Valley on Saturday and then make the gradual step up in class into the Group 3 $160,000 BECK Probuild Quezette Stakes (1100m) at Caulfield on August 17.
Jedstar was an all the way winner on debut over the 1000m down the Flemington straight on January 1 and followed that up with a second, after setting the pace, to Catch Me in the Group 3 $160,000 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Preview (Fillies) (1000m) at Caulfield on January 26.
