Victorian colt Yes Yes Yes will be set for the Group 1 $1.5m Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 23 after being scratched from Saturday’s Magic Millions 2yo Classic.
Yes Yes Yes was one of the top fancies for the $2m The Star Gold Coast Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast but trainer Darren Weir has decided to send the Rubick colt back to Victoria without a start after arriving on the Gold Coast with some minor soreness following a gruelling road trip North earlier in the week.
“He’s just got some soreness over his rump, he galloped fine on Monday morning so something may have happened (over the past few days),” Weir told racing.com.
“We want to look after him and protect him.
“The Blue Diamond is still there as an option, that’s not ruled out.
“We’ll just get him back (to Melbourne) now, I haven’t really thought too much about how or when yet.”
Yes Yes Yes is the winner of two of his three race starts and debuted on December 1 for a second over 1000m at The Valley and then scored his maiden win in the a 1100m two year old Plate down the Flemington straight on December 15.
Weir then sent Yes Yes Yes back to The Valley where he made it two wins on the the trot with a victory in a 1200 two year old Plate on December 29.
Yes Yes Yes was marked at $8.50 with Ladbrokes.com.au at the time of his withdrawal from the Magic Millions 2yo Classic and is on the second line of betting for the 2019 Blue Diamond Stakes at $8 behind the Jason Warren trained Brooklyn Hustle at $4.
