It was a day out for the girls on Saturday at the Mortlake Cup meeting with That’s Our Girl and Bombshell Belle both breaking their maiden status in fine style.
Wilde Racing enjoy going to these once a year cup meetings and supporting the clubs. It is always a great day out and to get a double makes the day even more enjoyable.
That’s Our Girl was the first to break her maiden status with Dean Holland in the saddle.
She is a mare that has had her fair share of niggles throughout her career but the owners have been rewarded for their patience.
If we can keep her sound and happy, going off her win on Saturday, That’s Our Girl will continue to run well as she progresses through her grades.
Bombshell Belle a lightly raced mare only having her second start was our second winner for the day.
She is a mare that seems to appreciate some give in the track, so when the rain was falling on Friday night into the early hours of Saturday morning our confidence levels grew a little.
After been unlucky on debut at Hamilton, she franked her great run with an easy 2.5 length win under the guidance of Teo Nugent on Saturday.
Her owners have been very patient and going forward they look as though they are going to reap the rewards.
Congratulations to both groups of winning connections.
