Co-trainer Paul Snowden can’t see new stable acquisition Land Of Plenty spoiling Winx’s party in the 2019 Group 1 $1m The Agency George Ryder Stakes (1500m) at Rosehill on Saturday.

Winx is the winner of the last three runnings of the weight for age George Ryder Stakes and if she can make it four in a row will stretch her unbeaten record to thirty-two straight wins and also collect her twenty-fourth Group 1 trophy.

Land Of Plenty has had one run for the Peter and Paul Snowden stable for a fourth to Alizee in the Group 1 $500,000 Yulong Futurity Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on February 23.

Paul Snowden said that he couldn’t see Land Of Plenty ending Winx’s outstanding winning run but added that the five year old stallion needs another run to top him off for the Group 1 $3m The Star Doncaster Mile (1600m) at Randwick on Da One of The Championships in a fortnight.

“Land Of Plenty has his second run for the stable against Winx in the George Ryder and while I don’t think we’ll be spoiling the party the horse is going well but at the same time there are a few things against him,” Paul Snowden wrote in his Racenet Column.

“We wanted to run him last week at Rosehill but the heavy track knocked that run out and if he’s going to get to the Doncaster he needs to run here, although he’s one who doesn’t want it too wet.

“He’s also not suited at weight-for-age, especially against Winx but at the same time we can’t leave him at home and keep missing lead-up races with the Doncaster only a fortnight away.

“Still he’s a good horse and lovely to have around the stable, he’s like an old gelding not a five-year-old stallion but he’s going well however we just need to find a track which is a bit firmer underfoot to see his best.”

Winx dominates the George Ryder Stakes betting at $1.06 at Ladbrokes.com.au while Land Of Plenty is on the second line of betting at $19.

Melbourne based jockey Mark Zahra takes the ride on Land Of Plenty who has drawn barrier one in the George Ryder Stakes field that has been reduced to eight runner’s following the early scratching of Egg Tart while Winx will jump from gate six with regular rider Hugh Bowman in the saddle again.
