Evergreen jockey Damien Oliver will be looking for back to back Group 1 victories during the 2018 Ascot Racing Carnival when he rides Trap For Fools in the Group 1 $1m Magic Millions Kingston Town Classic (1800m) at Ascot in Perth on Saturday.

Oliver was at his best last Saturday when he drove the Darren Weir trained Voodoo Lad to victory in the Group 1 $1m Crown Perth Winterbottom Stakes (1200m) at Ascot and will take his Group 1 winning tally to 115 if he can salute on Trap For Fools.
The Jarrod McLean trained Trap For Fools will lead the fifteen horse Kingston Town Classic field out onto the track with Oliver on top, replacing John Allen who was aboard the five year old for his last start all the way win in the Group 1 $2m Seppelt Mackinnon Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on the last day of the 2018 Melbourne Cup Carnival on November 10.
“Damien has confirmed he’ll ride Trap For Fools,” McLean told The West Australian.
“This will be the first time he has been on our horse and we’re delighted he’s accepted the mount.”
“He’s (Trap For Fools) made the trip in good order and we’re looking for him to run really well again this Saturday.’’
Victoria’s leading trainer and Winterbottom Stakes winning trainer Darren Weir will saddle up two runners in the fifteen Horse Kingston Town Classic field, Iconoclasm and former barrier rogue Holy Snow who was given the green light to take his place in the field after successfully going through the barriers in a 1450m trial at Lark Hill on Monday.
Dean Yendall takes over from Craig Williams on Iconoclasm who finished eighth to Galaxy Star in the Group 1 $1m Kirin Railway Stakes (1600m) at Ascot on November 24 while Mitchell Pateman takes over from John Allen on Holy Snow after they combined for a second to Fifty Stars in the Group 3 $150,000 Sandown Stakes (1500m) at Sandown on November 17.
Perth’s leading jockey William Pike will ride the three year old filly Arcadia Queen while Chris Parnham will ride the high profile Grant and Alana Williams trained stablemate Galaxy Star.
The Williams stable will also saddle up Perfect Jewel (Peter Hall) with all three runners sporting the Bob Peters cerise and white colours while the Adam Durrant trained Star Exhibit will also carry the Peters’ colours.
Arcadia Queen is a clear favourite for the Kingston Town Classic at $2.80 with Ladbrokes.com.au ahead of Galaxy Star at $4.80 and Trap For Fools at $6.
