We have always believed Penny had the talent and toughness to be a top class mare and Saturday’s 1600 metre win at Headquarters proved that to all and sundry.A great ride by Robbo enabled her to ease into the race, go through her very talented gears and she then showed the big boys what we can do.
Words can’t express our admiration for this mare.This prep has been nothing short of amazing in what she and her mate Robbo have achieved for the owners and us.Just reward also for a wonderful ownership group who have stuck with Team Sell and this bonny mare through some tough times.Penny has now amassed almost $300,000 in prizemoney and the $55,000 1st prize for this helped with some of the celebrations.
Penny will be nominated for the All Star Mile and we hope everyone gets behind her when nominations open on January 21.Who knows where to next for her after a short let up, she is certainly capable and a Listed race is not out of the question for Penny.Whatever happens we know that she will try her guts out each and every time she hits the turf.
