In-form three year old Ringerdingding sounds out a warning to his rivals when he backs up this Saturday in the Group 2 $250,000 Ladbrokes Sandown Guineas (1600m) at Ladbrokes Park at Sandown.
Ringerdingding came from well back in the field to overhaul his rivals in winning the Listed $150,000 Springtime Stakes (1400m) at Flemington last Saturday and trainer Darren Weir said the Sebring colt has pleased him during the week and is set to back up in the Sandown Guineas this weekend.
“He has had a good week,” Weir told racing.com.
“Had the stretch of the legs on the course proper here this morning (Ballarat, Thursday). Very easy and just a bit of a bowl around and he looked to stride out well so he can go around Saturday as well.”
Ringerdingding had worked his way up through the grades with a win four starts back in a 1400m Benchmark 64 Handicap at Bendigo as well as a third, two starts back, in the Group 3 $150,000 1300 Australia Stakes (1200m) at The Valley on Cox Plate Day.
Ringerdingding has drawn barrier six in the twelve horse Sandown Guineas field with John Allen in the saddle again after the pair combined for the Flemington win last weekend.
Ringerdingding is holding his spot at the top of the Sandown Guineas market order at $3.10 with Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of the Mick Price trained filly Seabrook at $3.70.
Seabrook is the only filly in the Sandown Guineas field and is dropping back to three year old company after finishing sixth against the older mares in the Group 1 $500,000 Empire Rose Stakes (1600m) at Flemington on November 3.
Damien Oliver finds his way back aboard Seabrook who will jump from gate ten.
