Cold, wet, wintry conditions didn’t deter the owners of Shamal Lass who were at Geelong on Friday to watch their filly win in impressive style.
The track was rated a heavy 10, and Shamal Lass relished the conditions. She certainly appreciates the softer going after jarring up at Flemington the start prior.
Damien Oliver retained the ride, he settled her out the back and out of trouble. When Shamal Lass joined in on the home turn, the race was never in doubt.
She costed clear down the straight and was eased down on the line to win by 0.75 lengths. It was an encouraging victory.
Shamal Lass is building an impressive record having 5 starts for two wins and two minor placings with her only blank was Flemington.
Congratulations to the winning connections who look to have a talented filly on their hands.
