Strategic Spin (aka Fred) was back to his very best running them ragged at Pakenham for a fantastic all the way win!
He came out of the gates with a full head of steam and kept going..we had our hearts in our mouths over the last 100m but he was tough late and simply too good!
The win brought up Fred’s second win for the preparation taking his earnings to just under $50k.
“He wasn’t disgraced at Flemington las start so we were confident that he would bounce back at Pakenham in a lesser race. “In hindsight, I wished I had kept the blinkers on him last start at Flemington. I was concerned that he night have gone too hard down the straight but as we saw today, the harder he goes, the better he goes” explained Warren
He has a really high cruising speed and there is no point holding him up. He just loves getting out in front and running time” said Warren.
Strategic Spin is now off to the spelling paddock after an excellent campaign and we look forward to seeing him over the summer months.
A big congratulations to Fred’s owners who have been great supporters over the past couple of years. It hasn’t always been smooth sailing with Fred who has tested everyone’s patience at different stages but everyone has stuck together and it is fantastic to see his owners reaping the rewards now.
